The great French Impressionist Pierre Auguste Renoir uses a kaleidoscope of color to paint two sisters (Les Deux Soeurs). The girls, wearing elaborate hats, look down thoughtfully--probably reading the same book. Renoir, with his "rainbow palette," painted more than 6,000 canvases, and this sweet painting is one of his best. Acrylic glazing on paper.
